Dr. Diane has been in pediatric practice for more than ten years. She graduated cum laude from UC San Diego, attended medical school at UC Davis and completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles . After her residency training, she dedicated her early years in practice to treating and caring for underserved children in communities without easy access to health care. Through her practice in a community clinic, Dr. Diane helped develop policies that provided high quality preventive and emergency care to children with limited resources.
Her passion to treat children was inspired by her own family's immigration to the United States . Dr. Diane was born in Vietnam , and arrived in the United States in 1975. Her parents essentially left everything behind, and worked very hard to assimilate into their new lives in America . As a result, Dr. Diane grew up immersed in an atmosphere of determination and diligence, with an emphasis on obtaining an excellent education, and on maintaining strong ties to both family and community.
These values motivated her to become a pediatrician, and to devote her career to promoting the wellness of children of all ages. Today Dr. Diane is a partner with a major multi-specialty group, where she enjoys combining her clinical practice with volunteer work in local school-based clinics. This fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics was an active member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee in her hospital, has been honored by the Consumers' Research Council of America with a listing as one of "America's Top Pediatricians 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010", and was voted one of the Best Doctors in America© for 2008, 2009.
Children are an important part of Dr. Diane's life, on both a personal and professional level. She strives to balance the needs of the patients in her practice with those of her husband and kids at home. Raising her two school-age children and caring for newborns on a daily basis at work has solidified her belief that children are only young for a short time, and that a parent's time with them is precious. As a result, she focuses on helping parents appreciate their children's developmental milestones, and educating them about how best to prevent future health issues. Whether she is providing the necessary immunizations to prevent newborn pertussis; offering dietary counseling to help a toddler avoid obesity; or donating time to perform free school physical examinations, Dr. Diane is committed to giving back to children at every stage of development.
In the few hours she has to herself, she enjoys reading, ballroom dancing with her husband, attending her children's activities and events, and taking vacations with her extended family.
