Lacey's Picks: MD Moms Written by Lacey
Here at Pregnancy & Newborn, we like to think that all our editors have pretty fabulous taste. But we also all have very different tastes, so we thought it would be fun to take over the Good Gear blog for the next several weeks and introduce you to a few of our favorite things, one editor at a time.
I’m kicking it off this week, bringing you five days of gear that I simply couldn’t live without (or couldn’t live as happily without). So who am I? I’m Lacey, the editor in chief of Pregnancy & Newborn. But most importantly, I’m the mom of two fabulous kids. I think that most people who know me well would agree that I’m a practical person, almost to a fault. I crave order, perhaps because my life is so naturally chaotic. (2 working parents + 2 active kids + 1 dog that isn’t afraid to let you know when she needs a walk = 1 very busy life.) All the items I’ve chosen to showcase this week are things that will make your life as a mom easier. You won’t find a lot of frills in my picks (but don’t worry, Lauren will be hooking you up with lots of frilly goodness next week!). I like simple things that look nice and work well. So let me introduce you to my first fabulous mom-approved picks…

MD Moms Baby Silk towelettes are lifesavers, and staples in my bag at all times. Since we live in the south, sunscreen is a necessity pretty much year round. (Actually, it’s a good idea to use it year round no matter where you live!) I love the babysafe sunscreen towelettes from MD Moms, since they’re much easier to carry around than a bottle of sunblock and are incredibly easy to use. You just pull one out, rub your kiddo down, and sunscreen is applied. No squirty mess or yucky sticky hands! The sunscreen towelettes are SPF 30+ (so I do opt for a stronger sunblock for days at the beach or in strong direct sunlight), and they are water resistant and sweat proof, making them perfect for soccer games or outdoor play, the two activities for which I pull them out most often. They work great on my big kids and are also safe for young infants. Quick, easy and effective … a mom’s sunscreen dream come true! |

I also love MD Moms Baby Silk gentle all-over clean cleansing towelettes. My daughter is naturally neat, but my son is a dirt magnet. He is all boy, and he manages to get filthy outside in the amount of time it takes me to unload the groceries from the car. I use the cleansing towelettes to clean him off when a dip in the tub just isn’t doable (like when he just had a bath and decides to stop for a quick dip in the dirt before we head out to dinner). I keep a travel pack with me constantly, and even use them myself sometimes, since they smell nice and are super soothing. They can also double as baby wipes during diaper changes for moms with infants and are perfect for sensitive skin.

My favorite thing about the MD Moms brand—other than its easy effectiveness—is the fact that it was developed by a pair of moms that also happen to be pediatricians, so you can rest easy knowing that their products were designed with safety in mind. All their products are great and can be purchased on their website or at drugstore.com. I hope you love them as much as I do!
