Carrying liquids on a flight? Think small at 3floz.com

Federal rules limit most liquids and gels you carry aboard a U.S. flight to containers each holding about 3 fluid ounces or less, but finding those small-size bottles of lotions, shaving cream or other items can be a headache.
One new option for travelers: a Web site specializing in the small-size beauty and grooming products, even for babies, called 3floz.com. Brands of baby-specific products offered include Little Twig, MD Moms, Lather and Weleda.
Co-founders Kate Duff and Alexi Mintz launched 3fl0z.com in February and ship wordwide. Buyers can receive an upgrade to overnight shipping for the price of ground transport by including a flight itinerary showing travel within three days, the company said.
For more on rules about carrying liquids aboard flights, visit tsa.gov/311. 311 refers to the Transportation Security Administration’s advice for passengers to put all their containers each holding 3 fluid ounces or less in 1 clear, plastic quart-size, zip-top bag in 1 piece of their carry-on luggage.
Medications, baby formula and food, and breast milk are allowed in quantities exceeding 3 fluid ounces and need not be placed in the zip-top bag. Declare those separate items for inspection at the checkpoint, the agency advises.
